Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, while often thought of as a condition reserved for soldiers returning from combat or citizens who endured some sort of extreme trauma, we see it rising among our citizens. Affecting as many as 8 million Americans annually, the National Center for PTSD states as many as 1 in 10 women and 1 in 25 men suffer. Chiropractic is a highly effective tool in the treatment of those bearing the burden. In addition to reducing pain, adjusting the spine, mainly the upper cervicals, effectively takes away the “noise” in the central nervous system. By bringing efferent (exiting) and afferent  (incoming) neurological information into balance, the patient is essentially downregulated and in a better position to cope and heal.
